Wonder no more! I watched the whole thing minus the demonstration near then end, and rather than respond to every single point you made, I thought I'd take on the main points:
1. It's not so much the legality of the theme I'm worried about. Yes, I know
I asked about it, but that was just to make sure we weren't going to get
arrested or anything crazy like that. And no, I'm not stupid enough to
think that cigarettes are illegal. I just feel like it's wrong somehow. If
somebody gets hooked because of us, yes, they are dumb. Even so, I'd
still feel bad. To explain further, I don't support drugs. When I see ads for
them in magazines and such, and I see that they're aimed mostly at kids, I
hate it. They're too young to understand. If we have a drug theme, that's
like advertising drugs, and it's just as bad, to me anyways.
2. I don't think you responded well to the point where I said we could do
better, mainly because I think that we can. There's a reason I introduced
a comic, a banner featuring our comic avatars, and cartoony emotes to the
forum after all. Still don't get it? Join the forum, have a chance at being in
a webcomic. Don't think it will catch on? Well then, you've probably never
read a story with an Author Avatar in it. People love to be in stories. That
theme would be- in my opinion- way cooler than the drug theme.
3. If nobody here does drugs, and nobody is joining the site to talk about
them, then why are they still relevent? You said so yourself, almost
nobody here does them.
4. I just joined for the forum, I didn't realise drugs were the main theme until
later on. Yes, the site is named after them, but until the redesign, they
weren't very prevelent, so I was able to basically ignore them completely.
5. This isn't really a point, but I'm dissapointed in your presentation, to be
honest. I thought you'd be a little more polite and professional about this.
I mean, I know you were joking, but honestly, was the terrorist comment
necesary? I mean, are you really that unwilling to compromise? Also, the
whole video came off as rather dismissive, like you didn't really care about
what I said. I've been very respectful towards you as the admin of the
site up until this point, and as one of the only people who attended the
Skype conferece, I think I deserve a little more respect than I was shown.
Now, I'd be a little more willing to drop the subject if you got around to implementing those emotes that I submitted a while back...
