Is there anyone out there who hasn't ever grabbed something like an umbrella, or an upside down grocery bag and jumped off of a ledge somewhere, expecting to glide down to the ground slowly?

No, never. I knew it wouldn't work. I flapped my arms off of the top of a high wall though.

Yeah, I've tried to flap my arms too (as a little kid). I was pretty sure that it wouldn't work, even then, but it was fun to try.
